I quit my job at the restaurant today. Even though they got the appropriate permits to stay open after dark during the full moon, I only work night shifts, and with all the vampire attacks in Diagon last month, I just don't feel comfortable working there anymore. I'm going to start taking more shifts at Beholder to make up for it, though.

It's really hard to believe that two of my friends got married this month. Addie and Boyd, Effie and Pepper, I'm happy for you all, and congratulations!
Since I wrote publicly about it in here at the beginning of the month, I thought I might as well make a public update, in case anyone out there still might know something about my birth parents. I checked with St Mungo's, and they had nothing that could help me. I had already checked with the orphanage, but all they had was the record of my parents adopting me.
I haven't yet been to the Ministry because while I had been planning to go earlier this month, I've been a little nervous to go to the Diagon area lately. Which kind of sucks, since both my other jobs are in the area, and one of them is right next to the Prophet But I've finally convinced myself that of everyone on Diagon, the Ministry is probably the safest place to be, so I'll be going by tomorrow during my lunch break to see if I can find anything out.

I have only two resolutions this year:
1. Save up enough money to get my own place.
2. Find my birth parents.
I found out in November that I was adopted when I was a little girl. Nobody seems to know anything about my parents, just that I was dropped off at the Artemisia Lufkin Orphanage when I was still a baby. Right now, it seems impossible that I'll find anything out, but -- I'm trying.
And this feels like a silly question to be asking, but if anyone on this journal network happens to know anyone who would have had a baby around May of 1961, I'd love to somehow get in touch with them. I'm not expecting anything, even if I find them, I just want to know who they were, where I came from, and why they didn't want me.

I've got all of my Christmas shopping done. Of course, since I'm making all my presents, my shopping has been done for months. I'm just putting the finishing touches this week on everything, so I guess that's about the same as finishing up my shopping, right?

I thought I would just ... put out a nice friendly reminder to everyone that when you go out to a restaurant, it's really not your waitress' fault if the kitchen is swamped because it's 7:00 pm on a Saturday night and everyone is out at dinner and one of the cooks quit today and yelling at her for being slow will not move your meal up in the kitchen's queue any faster.
